Dr. Liddicoat replaces Dr. Matt Thompson, who is taking over a new role as executive VP and chief medical officer at Endologix.

Endologix has revealed a leadership transition—Dr. Matt Thompson is stepping down as president and CEO and will take over the role of executive VP and chief medical officer. Dr. John Liddicoat was named as the new president and CEO and will assume the role immediately.
Dr. Liddicoat has served on the boards of several private medtech companies and advised private equity firms. He spent over 16 years in executive roles at Medtronic, where he oversaw global operations for divisions including the cardiac rhythm and heart failure business.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. John Liddicoat as our new CEO. John’s extensive experience and proven leadership in the healthcare industry make him the ideal person to guide Endologix through its next chapter of growth and innovation,” said Endologix chairman Richard Mott. “I also want to extend our sincere appreciation to Matt for his exceptional leadership and the significant advancements he has brought to Endologix during his tenure as CEO. We are pleased that Matt will remain an integral part of our team, enabling him to balance his professional commitments with a desire to spend more time in the UK.”
“I’m excited to join Endologix as President and CEO and build upon the company’s strong foundation,” said Dr. Liddicoat. “I look forward to collaborating with the team, to expand our impact, and improve outcomes for patients suffering from vascular disease around the world by delivering life-changing vascular solutions.”
Last month, the company revealed results from its 36-month DETOUR2 study, showing its DETOUR system is as safe and effective as open bypass with a synthetic graft to treat peripheral arterial disease.
